Overview

This tour pairs a walk through Montmartre with a long string of tastings: eight food stops in total, with ten food tastings and two drinks along the way. It runs for three hours, starting at Le Pain Quotidien on Rue Lepic and finishing near Sacré-Cœur.

The food itself covers a lot of French ground. Oysters served with French wine come from a neighbourhood institution, and there is a demonstration of aligot: mashed potatoes mixed with fresh cheese and cream. Artisan shops supply baguette, cheese, chocolate, macarons and citrus jam. A local English-speaking guide leads the way and hands out insider tips for eating in the rest of Paris.

Groups are capped at ten travellers, and the tour needs at least two guests to run. It suits people who want an overview of French cuisine in a short window and would rather have a guide steer them away from tourist traps. It is not wheelchair accessible. Vegetarians and gluten-free guests can be accommodated with advance notice, though severe allergies rule the tour out.
